Job Description:

Our client in Dubai, UAE, is seeking a French/Arabic/English-speaking Logistics Executive to join their expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of importing dairy products into North Africa, primarily Algeria.

As the Logistics Executive, your key responsibilities will include:

Scrutinizing sales and purchase contracts issued for/by customers/suppliers.

Understanding bulk and break-bulk shipments.

Coordinating and negotiating with independent surveyors and appointing surveyors.

Leading customer service, execution, and documentation of import/export/cross-trade movements with a focus on timely execution of contracts.

Following up on import collection documents with suppliers/banks to ensure timely retrieval.

Overseeing the immediate presentation and delivery of export documents.

Ensuring compliance with destination country requirements regarding documentation or shipping arrangements.

Updating internal tracking systems for new and existing shipment schedules with estimated departure and arrival times.

Coordinating with finance and overseas teams to understand corrective actions affecting business cash flow.

Regularly monitoring open contracts, invoiced or un-invoiced shipments, and linking respective purchase and sales contracts.

Monitoring accounts receivables and following up with customers for the realization of due/overdue invoices.

Skills & Competencies:

Native French and Arabic verbal and written communication skills.

Effective English verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Organized and efficient, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Computer literate, with excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of logistics tracking software and documentation, shipping/freight operations, import/export, etc.

Handling and familiarity with contractual documentation.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience in the import/export industry.

  • Preferably experience in food trading.

  • Highly preferable to have import experience in Algeria.

  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.

  • Currently residing in the UAE or GCC.
