The Philippines One Health Pass is Replaced by the eTravel Card

The eTravel Card serves as an online Health Declaration and Contact Tracing platform, streamlining the transition for foreign travelers from their home country to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of their final destination. Before your journey to the Philippines, every foreigner and Filipino traveler, including infants and children, must register individually with the eTravel Card.

What Was the Philippines One Health Pass?

The One Health Pass (OHP) was an online system functioning as a Travel Health Certificate. Implemented by the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), it served as a tool for the Filipino government to monitor the health status of foreign nationals, minimizing the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Who Needed to Complete the Philippines One Health Pass?

The OHP was mandatory for all travelers, including citizens and residents of the Philippines. Even with a resident permit or a Filipino passport, passengers were required to possess this additional travel document. Children of all ages also needed their own health declaration form.

Is the One Health Pass Still Required in 2022?

Yes, as of 2022, all passengers arriving in the Philippines were required to complete a One Health Pass, regardless of vaccination status.

Requirements for the Philippines One Health Pass

To apply for the OHP, travelers needed to provide specific information, including contact details, passport information, travel details, the last 30 days' travel history, and details of the quarantine accommodation, which had to be a government-approved facility.

When to Apply for the Philippines One Health Pass?

The One Health Pass registration form had to be completed within three days of traveling to the Philippines. The system did not allow continuation if the travel date was more than three days away.

Cost of the Philippines One Health Pass

Good news – the Philippines One Health Pass was free of charge, requiring no payment for registration.

How to Apply for a One Health Pass for the Philippines?

The online application was quick and easy, accessible from the One Health Pass website. Travelers needed to provide personal information, accommodation details in the Philippines, travel details, and COVID-19-related health information. Upon completion, an email with the approved travel health form, featuring a unique QR code, was sent. This code had to be presented to officials during the trip.

Upon Arrival in the Philippines

Upon arrival, travelers had to go through immigration and present additional travel documents, such as a return flight ticket, proof of sufficient funds, passport, and visa if applicable.

COVID-19 Entry Requirements for the Philippines

As of now, fully vaccinated individuals with at least one booster shot may not require pre-departure COVID-19 testing. However, a negative COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test within 48 hours or a certified negative COVID-19 (RAT) test within 24 hours is necessary for those without a booster shot. Entry requirements may vary, so it's crucial to check the most recent information.

Now equipped with this information, you are ready to register for your eTravel Card, the new essential for your Philippines journey. Ensure your documents are in order, and you'll be booking your trip in no time. Safe travels!

eTravel Card: One Health Pass Alternative

The Philippine health authorities have decided to simplify the arrival process by replacing the One Health Pass (OHP) with the easier to complete electronic Travel Card (eTravel Card) as an entry requirement for arriving in the Philippines. This card requires less information than the previous one.

All travelers entering the Philippines must sign up individually for the eTravel platform. Likewise, they have to present evidence of their eTravel registration at the time of check-in/boarding and upon arrival. To register, they must give out their basic personal details, travel information, and health declarations, including details of any vaccinations.

If you are not able to complete the eTravel Card before your departure, the personnel at the Philippine Bureau of Quarantine and the airport’s staff will help you do it correctly. Also, they will help you submit it as soon as you get to the Philippines.

While travel in the Philippines has largely resumed, certain documents, restrictions, and travel passes remain prerequisites for a smooth journey to this island nation. Notably, the once-mandatory eArrival card has now been replaced by the recently introduced eTravel Card, as part of the Philippine authorities' ongoing efforts to streamline entry procedures.

Let's explore everything you need to know about the eTravel Card and its registration process in the Philippines.

eTravel Card Latest Updates & News 2023

As of April 15, 2023, the electronic Travel Card, or eTravel Card, has officially replaced the One Health Pass (OHP) as the entry requirement for arrivals in the Philippines. This new card simplifies the arrival process, requiring less information and aligning with the decision of Philippine health authorities. Starting May 1, the Bureau of Immigration discontinues paper-based arrival and departure cards, ushering in a highly convenient immigration platform. The streamlined system aims to welcome 5 million international tourists to the Philippines in 2023.

What is eTravel Card?

The eTravel Card serves as an online Health Declaration and Contact Tracing platform, facilitating the seamless movement of international travelers from their country of origin to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of their destination. It enables the Philippine Government to maintain a database for contact tracing in the event of a traveler being afflicted with a specific disease. All foreign and Filipino travelers, including infants and children, must register individually on the eTravel platform before their flight to the Philippines.

Who Should Apply for eTravel Card?

According to the latest rules from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), eTravel registration is mandatory for all passengers and crew members arriving in or departing from the Philippines, with few exceptions for foreign diplomats and their dependents, foreign dignitaries, and certain diplomatic visa or passport holders.

eTravel Card Registration

The eTravel system, a mobile-responsive and web-based online platform, requires only a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or personal computer for access. Travelers, whether foreigners, flight crew members, or Filipino nationals, must individually apply for eTravel registration at least 72 hours before their departure from the country of origin. Proof of registration is necessary for boarding.

When to Register?

To register for the eTravel Card, visit etravel.gov.ph, select your nationality ("Philippine passport holder" or "Foreign passport holder"), enter your travel details and email address, and proceed to fill in personal details, address information, travel details, destination upon arrival in the Philippines, and a health declaration. After double-checking your information, complete the registration.

eTravel Card QR Code

Upon successful registration, you will receive a QR Code. Save or download your personal QR Code, as you'll need to show it to airline representatives before boarding and Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) officers upon arrival in the Philippines for verification.

Green QR Code

A Green QR Code indicates successful submission and approval of required information and documents. Travelers with a Green QR Code qualify for the "Express Lane" at the airport, with no need for further interviews or document submission.

Red QR Code

A Red QR Code is issued if there are missing requirements. Travelers with a Red QR Code will be interviewed by BOQ personnel upon arrival at the airport to verify if facility-based quarantine and RT-PCR testing are necessary.

Cost of eTravel Card

eTravel registration is free of charge, and no online payment is required. Be cautious of fraudulent websites that may request payment during registration.
