About the Team:
As part of the CareemNextGen Team, the program focuses on fostering the growth of a new joint Engineering team. The mission is to instill clean coding practices, SOLID principles, and the design of reliable systems. This initiative aims to train new Engineers to establish foundations of Engineering excellence with high standards. The program spans all areas of Careem tech, including Cyber Security, Data, Infrastructure, Backend, Frontend, and Mobile. Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain features and systems with a focus on code quality, maintainability, readability, and testing.
2. Support the Infrastructure team in seamless on-boarding for engineers.
3. Design, write, and review application code in Java, Python, GO, and various frameworks.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve interesting and challenging problems across the platform.
5. Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in building and owning tools for medium to large engineering teams.
- Expert Knowledge in Developing and debugging in Java, Go, Python, Bash.
- Experience with terraform and Cloud Formation.
- Experience with other programming languages is a plus.
- Building systems, dashboards, and metrics for a data-driven approach to problem resolution.
- Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers is a plus.
- Unquenchable thirst for learning new things.
- Obsession with keeping costs low while building solutions.
- Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
