Job Title: Accountant (1 Year - Fixed Term Contract)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant for a 1-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial accounting and reconciliation, month-end closing activities, and assisting in audits. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Financial Accounting and Reconciliation:
- Reconcile various GL accounts (e.g., bank accounts, accruals, prepaid assets) by month-end and year-end to ensure accurate and timely closing of account books.
- Update and reconcile subsidiary ledgers each month along with the GL, ensuring proper reconciliation, including depreciation and amortization of assets, as per API / Holding company’s policy and requirements.
- Analyze month-end accruals and provide variances for increases or decreases in accruals between months.
- Follow up with AP, AR, Treasury, and other stakeholders for unreconciled and outstanding items.

- Month-End Closing Activities:
- Communicate the schedule for month and year-end closing activities to all stakeholders to ensure timely execution of closing activities and reconciliation of general ledger accounts as per the defined schedule.
- Execute all closing activities for API/Holding Companies on a monthly basis in line with accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate transaction recording and reflection of financial standing.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, as directed by the line manager, to record transactions, accruals, and adjustments.
- Develop periodical statutory financial reports, including financial statements and disclosures, auditing reports, and submit them to the line manager for review to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.

- Audit:
- Assist in the completion of audits for API and related international holding companies by thoroughly reviewing financials and reporting discrepancies to ensure timely completion of audits and implementation of audit results by the entities.

- Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures:
- Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.

- Related Assignments:
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications:

- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Qualified accountant degree (CPA, ACCA, CA).

- Minimum Experience:
- 3-4 years of working experience, with a preference for experience in audit.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting requirements.
- Good business and financial analysis skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight/challenging deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously when required and take on additional responsibilities.
