Desktop Support Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Responding to client support requests.
2. Contacting clients to find out the nature of the problem.
3. Traveling to the client’s location or connecting via a remote link.
4. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
5. Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals.
6. Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software.
7. Troubleshooting networking and connection issues.
8. Advising on software or hardware upgrades.
9. Providing basic training in computer operation and management.
10. Completing job reports and ordering supplies.
11. Deployment and installation of OS images on multiple machines.
12. Outlook configuration and migration.
13. Troubleshooting printer issues, AD Domain errors, etc.
14. Familiar with system admin related activities like AD, DNS, Backups, etc.
15. Familiar with virtualization technologies like HyperV and VMWare.
16. Technical knowledge about network device configurations like firewalls, routers, etc.
17. Experience in cybersecurity software and applications.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows and Linux-based desktop and server environments.
- Experience with Firewalls, VPNs, and IP Telephony Products.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
- Proficiency in installing and upgrading operating systems and software.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of system administration tasks like Active Directory, DNS, and backups.
- Experience with virtualization technologies like HyperV and VMWare.
- Technical understanding of network device configurations such as firewalls and routers.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity software and applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to client locations when necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
