Draughtsman - Joinery & Fit Out

Job Title: Architectural Draughtsman

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Independently produce architectural and interior design (I.D) shop drawings for small projects and collaborate with architectural technicians on larger projects.
- Coordinate with suppliers of various materials to detail shop drawings effectively.
- Collaborate with the in-house joinery production department to detail joinery elements and propose workable and cost-effective details in shop drawings.
- Coordinate with the Operations team, including site engineers and Project Managers, to provide them with adequate drawings for site execution work.
- Maintain and organize project files, schedules, and specifications, ensuring all documentation received from stakeholders is filed correctly.
- Conduct site visits to assist construction and production teams with technical issues as needed.
- Attend progress meetings on site to ensure technical drawings are produced effectively and approved within the contractual timeline.
- Coordinate with pre and post Quantity Surveyors (QS) to ensure technical details are accurate.
- Maintain and update Requests for Information (RFI) and clarifications, supported with 2D and 3D illustrations using CAD and hand sketches.
- Prepare authority approval drawings for Dubai Municipality (DM) and Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) approvals.
- Handle any other design-related tasks delegated by the Head of Department (HOD).

Desired Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

- Diploma in AutoCAD or related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in architectural drafting.
- Proven skills and experience as a Draughtsman.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
