Job Description
Job Title: General Accountant
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a General Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of financial accounting and reporting within the organization. Your roles and responsibilities include:
1. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, bill payments, and collections.
3. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts based on past financial performance and future goals.
5. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities as required.
6. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns.
7. Audit Support: Assist with audits and financial reviews by providing necessary documentation and information to auditors.
8. Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software and other financial management tools effectively to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
9. Adherence to Regulations: Stay updated on accounting standards, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
10. Communication: Collaborate with other departments, vendors, and clients to resolve financial issues and ensure smooth operations.
11. Problem-solving: Identify financial problems or discrepancies and propose effective solutions to address them.
12. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to optimize financial processes.
13. Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
14. Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
15. Professional Development: Continuously enhance accounting knowledge and skills through training, certifications, and professional development opportunities.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Previous experience in accounting or related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
