Job Description

Job Title: Inclusion Teacher

Job Summary:
The Inclusion Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs and abilities. Collaborating with educators, administrators, and support staff, they develop and implement strategies to meet the unique educational requirements of students with disabilities or learning differences. By providing individualized instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom culture, the Inclusion Teacher ensures equitable access to educational opportunities for all students.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaboration and Planning:
- Work closely with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement inclusive practices.
- Collaborate on creating individualized education plans (IEPs) or accommodation plans to address student needs.

2. Instruction and Differentiation:
- Deliver individualized Mathematics and English lessons tailored to students attending flourish classes.
- Assess student needs and adapt instructional strategies and materials as necessary.

3. Inclusive Classroom Environment:
- Cultivate an inclusive classroom culture that fosters understanding, respect, and acceptance of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Modify curriculum content, instructional techniques, and assessment methods to ensure equitable access to learning.

4. Student Support:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities or learning differences within the general education classroom.
- Support students' social-emotional development and foster positive relationships within the inclusive classroom.

5. Parent and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and stakeholders to create a strong partnership focused on meeting students' unique needs.

6. Technology Integration:
- Utilize assistive technology and specialized instructional tools to enhance student learning experiences.

7. Progress Monitoring and Feedback:
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and Inclusion leads.

8. Professional Development:
- Support and guide teachers in implementing inclusive practices and quality first teaching.
- Collaborate with department members to enhance the quality of the inclusion department across the school.
