Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Planning Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Program and Progress Review:
- Review and provide comments/consent on the submitted programs from contractors.
- Review weekly progress reports submitted by contractors and provide feedback.
- Monitor project progress and advise contractors on corrective actions if needed.
- Review and comment on contractor claims for Extension of Time (EOT), providing recommendations.
- Reporting:
- Update daily progress reports, including sections for manpower and materials.
- Monitor and report on weekly and monthly progress, comparing actual vs. planned percentages and addressing unresolved contractor issues.
- Prepare and present reports to clients, highlighting site weaknesses and maintaining a master schedule.
- Site Visits and Monitoring:
- Conduct site visits to visually monitor ongoing activities.
- Ensure compliance with scope, time, and budget, obtaining client approval for any contract changes.
- Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
- Monitor long lead items and the sequence of processes, including material submittals, shop drawings, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handing over.
- Meetings and Coordination:
- Attend kickoff meetings and participate in project planning efforts.
- Coordinate and attend progress, coordination, special, and upper management meetings.
- Verify and validate all reports submitted by contractors.
- Include scope changes and variation work requested by the client or contractor.
- Project Closing:
- Participate in the project closing process and ensure all deliverables are met.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Certifications:
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent.
- Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in project planning and execution.
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Languages:
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
