Job Description

Job Title: Deals Strategy & Operations Manager - Energy & Utilities

Job Summary:
This role within the Strategy practice of the Deals line of service provides the opportunity to assist organizations in realizing growth strategies, value creation, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital market opportunities. The focus is on helping clients in the Energy and Utilities sectors navigate complex business issues, drive sustainable value, and achieve growth objectives. As a Deals Strategy & Operations Manager, you will be responsible for delivering strategic and operational advice, managing projects, and leading teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic and Operational Advice:
- Provide strategic and operational advice to clients, focusing on pre-deal work within the Energy and Utilities sectors.
- Support clients (both private and public sectors) in their localization efforts through value chain analysis, identification of investment opportunities, and conducting feasibility studies.

2. Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Develop market assessments, commercial due diligence, business plans, and corporate strategies for clients in the Industrials sector.

3. Project Management:
- Oversee the successful delivery of projects, including managing multiple projects simultaneously while leading a team of 3-4 consultants.
- Manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, report on project costs, and oversee payment collection.

4. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide coaching and guidance to help develop team members' skills and capabilities.

5. Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships at all levels, establishing credibility both internally with senior management and externally with clients.
- Communicate confidently and effectively, delivering impactful messages to a wide variety of audiences.

Requirements:

- Experience:
- Relevant experience in management consulting, focusing on advising governments and major stakeholders in the energy, utilities, power, mining, and sustainability sectors on strategy and corporate finance.
- Proven experience working within the Middle East region, with a strong understanding of regional market dynamics preferred.
- A solid understanding of investment strategies, deal structuring, and the M&A process, with the ability to bring valuable insights and solutions to complex transactions.

- Skills:
- Successful track record in leading teams and delivering projects through to completion.
- Proven experience in coaching and developing junior team members.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently deliver messages with impact to diverse audiences.

- Education:
- A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline) is preferred.

- Flexibility:
- Willingness to travel 40-60% of the time, which may include regular work away from the base office location and frequent overnight stays.
