Job Title: Networks and Information Security Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Networks and Information Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and performance of the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves designing and managing security solutions, monitoring network activities, and responding to security incidents.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Network Performance: Troubleshoot network issues and outages, schedule upgrades, and ensure optimal network performance.
- Security Solutions: Design, implement, and manage security solutions to safeguard network infrastructure.
- Traffic Monitoring: Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and respond to security incidents promptly.
- Security Audits: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Configuration: Configure network monitoring tools, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to prevent intrusions.
- Policy Development: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Backup and Recovery: Monitor backup and disaster recovery systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Training: Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on security status and incident response activities to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-6 years of experience as a Network Security Engineer or in a similar role.
- Security Frameworks: Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards such as COBIT and NIST.
- Cloud Security: Experience with cloud security platforms, including AWS and Azure.
- Scripting: Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
