About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy BHS (Baggage Handling System) Operator to manage the allocation and planning of baggage handling resources. This role is critical for ensuring safe and efficient baggage handling operations, focusing on customer experience, on-time performance (OTP), and the availability and reliability of equipment, systems, and facilities. The role involves providing procedural and clerical support to the Duty Manager on a shift basis.

Key Responsibilities:

- Resource Allocation & Monitoring:
- Generate and update baggage handling resource allocation plans as required.
- Monitor operations in real time and adjust resource allocations based on operational needs.
- Coordinate with Baggage Handling Supervisors to resolve issues related to resource allocation.

- Operational Coordination:
- Liaise with HIA, sub-contractors, handling companies, carriers, and other stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor contractor staff to ensure safe operation of all baggage handling equipment and systems.

- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures for baggage handling and related facilities.
- Generate and compile shift statistical data reports for troubleshooting and planning.
- Produce incident reports, shift reports, and safety reports for HIA management.

- Simulation & Data Analysis:
- Input data and rules into BHS Simulation Models, conducting evaluations and analyses of simulation reports.
- Utilize Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Ensure overall optimized baggage handling processes through effective resource allocation.

- Supervision & Support:
- Provide supervision in the BHS Control Room.
- Perform other department duties as directed by the Head of the Department.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a relevant technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience in a similar role within a similar-sized airport with in-line hold baggage screening systems.

- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Experience with BHS Simulations and familiarity with IATA requirements related to baggage handling operations.
- Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL and relevant certification is an advantage.
