Job Description

Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer

Role Overview:
As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in project planning and scheduling for high-rise construction projects. Your responsibilities will include developing detailed project schedules, allocating resources, managing project risks, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Effective communication, problem-solving, and proficiency in project management software are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop detailed project schedules and plans using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Define project milestones, deliverables, and timelines in coordination with project stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of project schedules with overall project objectives and client requirements.

- Resource Allocation and Management:
- Allocate resources (manpower, equipment, materials) effectively to meet project goals.
- Monitor resource utilization and recommend adjustments to optimize productivity.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.

- Risk Assessment and Management:
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project schedules.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Monitor and assess project risks throughout the project lifecycle.

- Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor project progress against established schedules and milestones.
- Prepare regular progress reports for project stakeholders, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to project management for decision-making.

- Change Management:
- Evaluate change requests and assess their impact on project schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to implement approved changes.
- Update project schedules and documentation accordingly.

- Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship and deliverables.
- Document and track quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.

- Communication and Coordination:
- Facilitate effective communication among project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings, workshops, and reviews.
- Resolve conflicts or issues related to project schedules and resource allocation.

- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in project planning and execution.
- Provide feedback and recommendations based on lessons learned from completed projects.
- Support knowledge sharing and training initiatives within the project team.

Desired Candidate Profile:
- Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or Scheduler in high-rise construction projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Planning Engineer or similar role in GCC.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and best practices.
