Job Title: Lab Technologist - Stem Cell Laboratory

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a qualified Lab Technologist to join our Stem Cell Laboratory team. The incumbent will play a crucial role in processing and testing stem cell products used for the treatment of cancer patients undergoing Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy treatment. The Lab Technologist will be responsible for conducting complex technical procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining the efficiency of laboratory operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform all steps required for the processing, labeling, and documentation of stem cell products.
2. Follow established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies such as DHA, FACT, JCI, FDA, AABB, CAP, and AHD.
3. Conduct procedures using sterile technique in a laminar flow hood, maintaining aseptic conditions to preserve product integrity and sterility.
4. Analyze data using spreadsheet and graphic software, ensuring accuracy in calculations and reporting.
5. Demonstrate technical competency in processing progenitor cells and performing quality control tests.
6. Provide timely and accurate test results to physicians according to standard operating procedures.
7. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
8. Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards, including FDA's Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Tissue Practices.
9. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety, infection control, and security protocols.
10. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and testing laboratories, to ensure timely and quality patient care.
11. Participate in patient care conferences, providing input and support as needed during the transplant process.
12. Adapt to a flexible work schedule to accommodate variable processing conditions and patient/donor requirements.
13. Demonstrate professionalism, commitment to personal growth, and adherence to privacy and confidentiality policies.
14. Develop measurable improvement goals for the stem cell laboratory and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab or Molecular Biology or a relevant scientific field.
- Post-graduate qualification or advanced clinical specialty is preferable.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Lab Technologist in Molecular Biology.
- Experience in processing human marrow or stem cells for transplantation is desirable.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and working in laminar flow hoods is preferred.
- Current license as a Lab Technologist in the country of origin and with the DHA.
- Working knowledge of stem cell regulations and accreditation standards (FACT, JCI, DHA) is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Experience in a private hospital setting is preferred.
