Job Description: IT Systems Analyst

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the complete life cycle of new/modified IT systems. This includes analyzing existing processes, gathering requirements, implementing systems, testing, and providing training. Also responsible for managing the lifecycle of all problems, identifying root causes, preventing incidents, and minimizing their impact.

Accountabilities:

IT Application Projects:

1. Lead the team in implementing systems, from analysis and design to development, delivery, support, and communication of in-house or standard IT application projects.
2. Lead consulting efforts with users/business analysts and other functional teams to interpret documented requirements for various IT application projects.

Assigned Business Department:

1. Train key/power users in assigned business departments on retail applications, ensuring optimal system utilization to meet business needs.
2. Examine and analyze current processes, optimizing through automation and removing non-value adding steps.
3. Manage retail application projects by communicating business requirements with vendors, following up on task status, and providing enhancements to existing applications.
4. Ensure project plan and schedule implementation for timely execution.
5. Perform complex programming tasks, design, document, and code program logic.
6. Review solution design documents and conduct User Acceptance Test (UAT) sessions.
7. Provide application support and ensure smooth operations through daily checks, system reports, and monitoring.
8. Assist in developing end-user documentation and departmental policies and procedures.
9. Liaise with concerned parties for system changes, migrations, upgrades, and patches.

Information Services:

1. Participate in planning and testing Contingency and Disaster Recovery activities to maintain service levels.

Security & Backups:

1. Define security, backup, and recovery procedures for each implemented system.
2. Collaborate with internal/external auditors to ensure quality, security, and integrity of application systems.
3. Perform Risk Assessment for application systems and escalate to Section Head with a mitigation plan.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with other IT division functions to ensure integration of system modules.

Skills:

Job Requirements:

- Education: BSc in IT (preferably in MIS, Systems Design)
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in Oracle Retail or a Tier 1 ERP System.
- Working knowledge of best practices in information technology management.
- Experience in project management methodologies.
- ITIL and service management background.
- Computer Skills:
- Strong command and background in programming languages.
- Experience in at least one Oracle Retail module or Tier 1 ERP systems.
- Software documentation and system analysis.
- Strong SQL/PLSQL knowledge.
- Experience with Integration modules such as RIB (Retail Integration Bus).
- Experience with automation tools such as Automic.
- MS Office Suite (Advanced).
- Languages: English, Arabic.
