Job Title: QC Supervisor - HDPE

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
- Conduct various tests on HDPE/PVC fabricated products, PE/PPR/PP/ABS pipes, fittings, and raw materials (resin), including:
- HDPE / PVC Fabricated Product Inspection / Testing:
- Dimensions and Visual Inspection (as per drawings)
- Product testing as per customer requirements
- PE /PPR/PP/ABS Pipes and Fittings Testing:
- Dimensions (Wall thickness, Outer diameter, Out of roundness (ovality), Weight per meter)
- Visual Inspection (Appearance, Correct Marking, Correct Structural Features, Correct Colour, Correct Length)
- Heat Reversion Test
- Hydrostatic Pressure Test @20/60/80/95 degrees Celsius
- Burst Test
- Melt Flow Rate
- Oxidation Induction Time (Thermal Stability Test)
- Elongation/Tensile Test
- Raw Material (Resin) Testing:
- Bulk Density
- Apparent Density
- Volatile Content
- Sieve Analysis
- Black Spec Content
- Oxidation Induction Time
- Melt Flow Rate

2. Quality Strategies and Processes:
- Support the Line Manager in implementing strategies and processes to meet quality objectives.

3. Batch Testing and Quality Adherence:
- Conduct batch testing during production and dispatch processes to ensure quality adherence and take remedial action in case of non-conformance.

4. Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular reports on activities for Line Manager review.

5. Goal Setting and Staff Mentoring:
- Assist in setting goals and objectives for direct reports and mentor staff to achieve these goals.

6. Product Defect Analysis and Reduction:
- Supervise product defect analysis and scrap management, and implement reduction strategies.

7. Laboratory Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and recommend replacements or upgrades as needed.

8. Project Supervision:
- Supervise assigned projects for improvements.

9. Quality Performance Reporting:
- Provide regular reports on quality performance, progress, and status.

10. Customer Product Quality Service Support:
- Conduct product failure investigations and submit final reports.
- Provide support for customer product quality service.

11. Calibration:
- Perform calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.

12. Support for New Materials/Products:
- Support trial runs of proposed new raw materials/products.

13. Third-Party Testing and Factory Audits:
- Oversee third-party witness testing and factory audits by clients.

14. Warranty Certificates Issuance:
- Issue warranty certificates for pipes and fittings.

15. Project and Certification Support:
- Provide support to achieve new projects and certifications for improvements.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in process industries, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Certifications: Valid certifications from bodies such as ISO (9001 standards), BSI (British Standards Institution), BSI Kite mark (UK), DVGW (German certification), KIWA (Holland certification), FM (USA certification), WRAS certification for relevant product lines.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Ability to lead, organize, and motivate a team.
- Proficient in total quality management system standards and practices.
- Good command of English (writing and speaking).
- Exposure to ERP systems.
