Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician

We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide domain knowledge input during the pre-purchase stage of all biomedical equipment.
Inspect, conduct inventory procedures, and mark incoming new equipment before use.
Provide technical assistance, training, and instruction to staff on equipment maintenance and operation.
Perform regular rounds and systematic preventive maintenance on all biomedical equipment, ensuring prompt problem resolution.
Maintain an updated inventory of all biomedical equipment in the hospital.
Analyze equipment for failures, faults, or malfunctions using test instruments and technical literature.
Interpret engineering and vendor information, schematic diagrams, and graphic illustrations, applying clinical, physiologic, and electronic principles.
Provide engineering and technical advice to ensure compliance with safety standards and prepare required reports.
Coordinate and evaluate the work performed by service contractors, including maintenance, calibration, installation, and service documentation verification.
Prepare and enter data in logs, reports, databases, forms, and equipment records related to inspections, repairs, equipment condition, and operation.
Conduct safety and risk assessments in collaboration with the FMS teams and develop countermeasures.
Prepare spare parts procurement requisitions from stores/manufacturers.
Liaise with other departments and higher management.
Manage and develop vendor relationships, particularly with those capable of repairing PCBs and major assemblies, reducing replacement costs.
Contribute actively as a member of the FMS committee to develop manuals, policies, and procedures relevant to the biomedical department.
Collect monitoring data for the medical equipment management program.
Develop and coordinate departmental quality initiatives.
Adhere to hospital safety norms and follow both patient safety and staff safety rules.
Stay updated on biomedical knowledge by attending seminars and workshops on new equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Medical Administrator.
