Job Description

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Operations:
1. Performs radiographic duties in the radiography rooms, wards, and various clinical areas on a 24-hour on-call rotation basis, including the Radiology facilities, Emergency Room (ER), Operating Room (OR), Outpatient Department (OPD), and special clinics.
2. Reviews radiologic requests, applying independent judgment based on patient history, departmental guidelines, physician recommendations, and the patient's condition to determine the region(s) to be examined and appropriate radiographic projections.
3. Coordinates patient flow to and from assigned clinical area, ensuring efficient and timely service.
4. Transports, prepares, and positions patients with care, tact, courtesy, and patience.
5. Utilizes advanced knowledge to adjust, manipulate, and control sophisticated radiographic equipment and accessories to obtain optimal quality radiographs, following departmental procedures.
6. Ensures patient safety through the use of special equipment or accessories for radiographic procedures.
7. Reviews processed radiographs for quality control, maintaining film processing units as needed.
8. Prepares and administers contrast media, performs special radiographic procedures, and operates specialized radiographic equipment under the general supervision of a Radiologist.

Equipment and Inventory Management:
9. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and accessories for radiologic procedures.
10. Ensures cleanliness and antiseptic conditions of radiology equipment and accessories in the working and clinical environment.
11. Demonstrates knowledge of sterile and isolation techniques to prevent contamination.

Emergency Response and Safety Compliance:
12. Recognizes changes in the patient's condition requiring emergency action and initiates an appropriate response.
13. Applies functional knowledge of potential radiation hazards and adheres to radiation safety regulations.
14. Instructs Radiologic Technology staff in clinical procedures and participates in in-service education and staff development meetings.

Compliance and Safety Procedures:
15. Strictly observes organizational medical regulations and policies, especially those related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment, and patient care.
16. Complies with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and infection control policies, standards, and procedures.
17. Familiarity with emergency and evacuation procedures.
18. Reports OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and issues, assisting in the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
19. Adheres to waste management procedures and policies.
20. Attends applicable OSH and infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programs.
21. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems in all relevant activities.

Miscellaneous:
22. Performs other duties as assigned by the Radiologist.
