Job Description
Job Title: Security Officer
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Security:
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and establishment premises.
- Report all property deficiencies and safety or security hazards to the Manager.
- Take immediate action to address hazardous situations.
- Implement procedures for security and emergency incidents.
- Follow the hotel's emergency plan in case of fire or other emergencies.
- Familiarize yourself with the location of fire alarms and firefighting equipment.
- Maintain the security system and monitor staff clocking on and off duty.
- Allocate staff locker keys as necessary and conduct random checks of key registers.
Surveillance and Monitoring:
- Maintain 24-hour surveillance of guest areas and workspaces.
- Monitor the closed-circuit TV system and report any unusual activities.
- Conduct regular checks on fire safety equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Ensure the hotel alarm system is functional and conduct daily fire inspections.
- Maintain a daily log of incidents and conduct regular locker checks in line with Human Resources policies.
Security Protocols and Procedures:
- Check packages and passes of employees entering and leaving the building.
- Prevent gambling and sabotage on hotel premises.
- Ensure all areas are fully secured when not in use.
- Maintain order and prevent undesirables from loitering around the hotel premises.
- Coordinate with other security staff, police, and government authorities as necessary.
- Implement hotel policies and procedures and report actions taken to superiors and Human Resources.
Customer Service:
- Demonstrate excellent service attributes, including attentiveness to guests' needs and prompt fulfillment of requests.
- Anticipate guest needs and maintain a high level of knowledge to enhance guest experience.
- Resolve guest complaints promptly and courteously.
Health, Safety, and Security:
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures relating to health, hygiene, and fire life safety.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures and ensure your direct reports do the same.
- Log all security incidents and accidents, investigate them, and take corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
General:
- Comply with the Company's Corporate Code of Conduct and model desired behaviors.
- Perform tasks as directed by the Manager to achieve business goals.
