Job Description

Job Title: Specialist Rheumatologist
Experience: 3 - 8 Years
Education: Bachelor of Science in Medicine

Job Overview:

The Specialist Rheumatologist is responsible for providing comprehensive care for patients with arthritis, rheumatic disorders, and musculoskeletal diseases. The role includes diagnosing, treating, and managing patients while adhering to established clinical standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Patient Care:
- Provide comprehensive and diligent Rheumatology care to all assigned patients.
- Perform duties in the outpatient department, rendering Rheumatologic care to patients.
- Offer opinions on inpatient cases and refer patients to other specialties (e.g., Orthopedic) as needed.

- Consultation Services:
- Provide consultation to physicians and other specialists on outpatient and inpatient cases.
- Refer patients to healthcare providers for orthopedic aids, physiotherapy, and corrective surgery.

- Record Maintenance:
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records for all patients.
- Participate in in-service activities such as lectures and conferences to stay updated on Rheumatology developments.

- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor clinical indicators to ensure ongoing quality assurance and adhere to established standards (DHA, JCI, ISO).
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and participate in scheduled training programs.

- Interpersonal Skills:
- Exercise effective communication and interpersonal skills with department staff and management.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect hospital policies and procedures.

- EHS Responsibilities:
- Familiarize and comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and infection control standards.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safe working procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Education:
- Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency.
- Certification by the American Board of Rheumatology or Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (or equivalent).

- Experience:
- At least three years of practice limited to Rheumatology since certification, with a minimum of two years as a licensed specialist.

- Skills:
- Excellent command of oral and written English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not essential.
- Strong clinical judgment, professional leadership, and maturity in the field of Rheumatology.

- Licensing:
- Current licensure in the country of origin and a valid DHA license to practice as a Rheumatology Specialist in Dubai, UAE.

- Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills applicable to interactions with colleagues, patients, and families.
