Job Description
Job Opportunity: Procurement Manager
Key Accountabilities:
People Management:
- Organize and supervise the activities of subordinates to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-optimized work.
- Ensure compliance with operating procedures and policies.
Supplier Sourcing:
- Participate in tender committee meetings and provide feedback on supplier evaluations.
- Lead negotiations and finalize quotations, emphasizing quality, price, terms, and deliveries.
- Develop purchasing documents, tender documents, and purchase orders to minimize variations and disputes.
Procurement Cycle and Services:
- Supervise the purchasing cycle for assigned materials and services, ensuring timely and cost-efficient procurement.
- Consolidate requirements across plants for coordinated purchasing activities.
- Monitor purchasing service levels and key performance indicators.
Purchase Order Management:
- Manage the purchase order process, liaising between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Initiate and negotiate contracts, ensuring adherence to specifications and procedures.
- Review invoice processing activities, record and close out purchase orders.
Supplier Management:
- Maintain productive relationships with key suppliers and address issues escalated by Purchasing officers.
- Evaluate supplier performance, update the preferred vendor list, and manage relationships with preferred vendors.
Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate with the Logistics Supervisor to oversee the receipt of all orders and ensure timely deliveries.
- Account for delays and overheads at the supplier's end to avoid additional costs.
Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures:
- Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure employee adherence to standards while delivering quality service to customers and stakeholders.
Skills:
- System Proficiency:
- Understanding of the SAP system.
- Analytical Skills:
- Very good in Excel, with strong analytical abilities.
- Legal and Contracts:
- Knowledge of law/regulations and contracts.
- Procurement Expertise:
- Excellent knowledge of the Purchasing to Pay process.
- Understanding of Purchasing-related risks and possible mitigations.
- Planning and Organizing:
- Very good planning and organizing skills.
- Communication and Negotiation:
- Very good communication and negotiation skills.
- Relationship Management:
- Ability to develop relationships with new vendors.
- Ability to manage multi-national teams.
