Job Description

Job Title: QC Welding Inspector

The QC Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of welding processes in industrial projects. This role involves performing inspections and testing to verify contractor adherence to engineering codes, standards, and contract requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Inspection & Testing:
- Perform QC inspections and testing related to welding activities, ensuring compliance with engineering codes and standards (e.g., ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8; ASME BPVC Sections V and IX; API 620, API 650; AWS D1.1).
- Conduct thorough reviews of documents, inspection reports, and test results to verify contractor compliance.

- Compliance & Documentation:
- Apply knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS requirements, engineering discipline drawings, standards, material specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and compliance to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards.

- Knowledge & Application:
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of welding processes, codes, and standards.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, performing a variety of inspections and testing functions.

- Communication:
- Provide clear and comprehensive documentation and reports on inspection and testing results.
- Communicate effectively with contractors and project stakeholders to address compliance issues and ensure project standards are met.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Experience & Education:
- High school diploma with at least six (6) years of direct work experience in QC inspection and testing of industrial project materials, equipment, systems, and facilities under construction and pre-commissioning.
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct work experience in QC inspection and testing related to welding in industrial projects (e.g., oil and gas production or petrochemical projects).
- Previous experience or Aramco approval in piping projects is advantageous.
- CBT (Certified Business Technician) pass exam is a plus.

- Certifications:
- Currently certified by one of the following:
- AWS as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- TWI CL as a CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
- An equivalent certification level and scheme approved by relevant authorities.

- Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of engineering codes and standards related to welding and testing requirements.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection tasks effectively.
