Facilities Supervisor

Position: Facilities Supervisor

Purpose:
Under the general guidance of the Facilities Manager, this position provides supervision for staff responsible for repairs and maintenance of the facility, including port buildings, camp structures, electro-mechanical installations, and other facilities. The Facilities Supervisor is expected to develop and implement utility plans, conduct system evaluations, and establish operational efficiency. Strong project management skills and a comprehensive understanding of structural requirements are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:
1. Supervise staff responsible for repairs and maintenance, including Facility Technicians, Painters, Carpenters, Plumbers, and other trade skill staff as required.
2. Ensure cost-effective maintenance and repair of port and camp buildings, covering electricity, plumbing, painting, and air conditioning.
3. Prepare work orders and scope of works, obtain cost estimates, and assign appropriate staff to execute repairs.
4. Develop weekly manpower plans.
5. Conduct regular inspections of buildings, parking lots, and other structures.
6. Supervise sub-contractors working on specific repair projects.
7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including job cards and equipment history cards.
8. Monitor and control the supply of materials.
9. Plan new or modified installations to comply with specifications and local electrical codes.
10. Provide supervision and direction for the maintenance staff, offering regular feedback, appraisals, and necessary counselling.
11. Adhere to company management policies and procedures in managing subordinates.
12. Deliver complete and accurate reports to management as required.
13. Ensure compliance with labor regulations, HSSE policies and procedures, terminal rules, and contribute to the continual improvement process.
14. Perform any other related activities as requested.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Additional vocational/technical education in building trades, such as electrical, mechanical, construction, civil engineering, and air conditioning.

Specialized Knowledge:
- Technical knowledge of building maintenance and repair, including carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, and general building trades.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications.
- General supervisory principles.

Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills.
- Strong judgment to set priorities effectively.
- Excellent supervisory skills, including planning, organizing, and directing work.
- Customer service orientation with sensitivity to departmental needs.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in Arabic highly desirable.
- Exceptional time management in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
- Preferable: 11 KV Safe Switching Practice License and Engineer (Inst.) License from EWA.
- Bahraini driver’s license with a good driving record.

Equipment & Applications:
- Proficient in computer use.
