Job Opportunity: Terminal Operations Supervisor

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Terminal Operations Supervisor to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan and supervise advanced vessel, yard, gate, and examination activities to optimize terminal efficiency and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in container terminal operations, excellent supervisory skills, and a commitment to safety and discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Initiate communication with agents and central planning office to obtain vessel particulars and coordinate with berth planning.
2. Ensure accurate data in the system by coordinating with cargo control and vessel agents.
3. Reserve grounding position for containers well in advance of vessel berthing.
4. Ensure adherence to the yard strategy and oversee vessel planning activities.
5. Update vessel particulars in the system and monitor the approval process.
6. Follow up with Advance planners to ensure timely completion of plans and application of cut-off times.
7. Monitor and evaluate the performance of Advance planners, providing guidance and support.
8. Maximize optimization opportunities in the crane plan, including Twin lift, Tandem lift, and Dual Cycling.
9. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and DPW standards in planning activities.
10. Facilitate effective communication with agents/consignees and address requests promptly.
11. Coordinate with vessel and line agents to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
12. Handover approved vessel plans to Dynamic planner before vessel arrival.
13. Verify yard inventory, identify missing containers, and propose areas for operational improvement.
14. Conduct periodic performance reviews with reporting personnel.
15. Ensure compliance with safety, discipline, and HSE policies in the work area.
16. Optimize quay and yard operations to achieve set KPIs.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Experience in container terminal operations: 4-5 years
- Supervisory experience: 3-4 years
- Understanding of vessel characteristics/dimensions and factors impacting vessel stability
- Work experience in container terminal operating systems
- Education: Diploma/Graduate, preferably in Marine Studies
- Excellent computer operating skills
