Job Description

Job Title: Cashier

Overview of the Role:

As a Cashier at IKEA Mall of Arabia, your primary responsibility is to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining clean and orderly checkout areas. You will ensure all transactions are processed accurately in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and perform essential tasks to minimize losses and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Handling and Transactions:
- Receive payments via cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits in strict adherence to SOPs related to cash handling.
- Accurately compute and record transactions, ensuring 100% accuracy for all register activities.
- Conduct cash counts and record the cash float both before trading begins and upon the close of trading.
- Safeguard collected cash, maintaining its safe custody, and regularly audit procedures to ensure compliance.

Customer Service:
- Provide prompt and attentive service to customers, ensuring their needs are met satisfactorily.
- Work efficiently to minimize queues and reduce waiting times, enhancing the overall customer experience.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Monitor and replenish stock levels of printed stationery as required.

Reporting and Review:
- Regularly review and adhere to SOPs to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Generate productivity reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and report on customer satisfaction metrics, including ICSS (Internal Customer Satisfaction Score) and Local CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index).
- Analyze waiting times and implement measures to optimize service efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of face-to-face customer service experience is required.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing cash counts and handling transactions.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to minimize queues and waiting times.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly and efficient checkout areas.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Accounting is preferred.
- Very good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
