Job Description

Job Title: Avionics Technician

Job Purpose:
Assist the Engineer in performing Avionics Maintenance tasks on Air Arabia and 3rd party aircraft, including inspections, repairs, and component replacement. Ensure work is performed and recorded up to required standards and in accordance with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key Result Responsibilities: Operational Excellence

1. Task Card Review:
- Review assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge to understand work, priorities, documentation requirements, and cautions before starting work.

2. Scheduled Maintenance:
- Prepare and perform scheduled aircraft maintenance based on assigned task cards.
- Obtain required documentation, parts, tools, and GSE per issued instructions.

3. Test and Inspection:
- Conduct aircraft test and inspection tasks to fully identify and record defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.

4. Repairs and Component Replacement:
- Carry out repairs, component replacements, and tests as instructed by assigned task cards in accordance with approved data and procedures.

5. Tooling/Equipment Management:
- Ensure proper tooling/equipment is drawn from stores to perform tasks, returning all in good condition after completion.

6. Task Status Reporting:
- Regularly report the status of assigned tasks to the Engineer-in-Charge.
- Alert the Engineer-in-Charge to any problems with aircraft condition or task execution.

7. Housekeeping:
- Demonstrate a high level of consideration for housekeeping standards in all tasks performed.

Safety

1. Safety Management:
- Manage the safety of assigned maintenance tasks, ensuring all published mandatory precautions are taken.
- Protect self and others from possible injury, using proper GSE and protective equipment.

2. Human Factors:
- Pay attention to human factors aspects of maintenance, following work interruption procedures.
- Ensure adequate access and lighting is used for maintenance and inspections.

Reputation and Teamwork:

1. Internal Customer Service:
- Provide helpful information and support to the team and other department personnel involved in scheduled maintenance checks.

2. Representing Air Arabia:
- Present a positive and competent image of technical professionalism to other companies' personnel and Air Arabia customers.

Cost Awareness:

- Maintain positive awareness of the cost of aircraft maintenance, including time and materials.
- Minimize unnecessary waste of consumable material and part repair cost by avoiding unnecessary damage and repeat work during maintenance.

Qualifications:

- Qualified and experienced Civil Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for technical communications.
- Solid basic understanding of Avionics maintenance theory and practice.
- Ability to obtain a UAE Driver’s License.

Work Experience: External Applicants

- At least 2 years of experience performing maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Base Maintenance environment.
- Good Avionics Maintenance Knowledge and experience.
- Solid basic understanding of Avionics Systems Maintenance theory and practice.
- Competent in using specialized Avionics test equipment, computers, and software tools.
