Job Description: Payroll Specialist

Job Purpose:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for carrying out necessary calculations and payroll data entry with a focus on confidentiality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions in accordance with Air Arabia policies and procedures.

Key Result Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Transactions:
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of all payroll transactions into the payroll system, following adopted policies and procedures.

2. Financial Reports:
- Prepare relevant reports for the Finance Department to match with financial transactions. Debit Hubs’ accounts with any fixed/variable due charges accordingly.

3. Pension Payments:
- Process pension payments for UAE National employees through the specified Pension Authority portal.
- Generate reports and process pension payments for GCC National employees based on specific criteria following their country’s regulations.

4. Exit Clearance:
- Ensure timely completion of all necessary exit clearance formalities by coordinating with relevant stakeholders.

5. Notifications:
- Send regular notifications on new updates related to joiners, leavers, transfers, upgrades, and status changes to the concerned teams.

6. Personnel Files Verification:
- Cross-verify personnel files entries of new joiners to ensure all data, benefits, and pay criteria align with employment agreements and Company’s policies.

7. Advance Payments:
- Analyze all “Advance Payments” for new and existing staff to ensure adherence to Company’s policies.

Qualifications:

- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, Statistics, Administration, or equivalent. Alternatively, a high school diploma with relevant working experience.

- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel and/or Access), Internet, and Web Search.
- Knowledge of HR Payroll systems and concepts. Familiarity with HRIS systems and software such as Taleo, SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle ERP is an added value.
- Domain Knowledge of Airline HR Systems is considered an advantage.
- Certificates in Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting, and Auditing are a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.

Work Experience:

- 4+ years of related experience in the Human Resources department, preferably in Airlines/Travel/Tourism.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically handling payroll.
- Experience in a mid-sized organization operating on a regional/multinational level.
- Very good knowledge of HR payroll cycle, process flow, and procedures.
- Strong math and numerical reasoning ability with high accuracy.
- Familiarity with compliance, internal and external audits.
- Ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proven skills in data analysis, identifying irregularities, and spotting numerical errors.
- High attention to details, confidentiality, and adherence to procedures.
- Cost-oriented with effective problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working for long hours and under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills and experience in interacting with all levels of staff in a multi-cultural environment.
