Job Description - Senior Project Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

Lead and coordinate project teams to provide complete project management services for onshore areas from inception to completion and handover.

Project Planning:

Prepare, review, and implement project plans, including Project Execution, Risk Management, Assurance, Quality, and HSE interface.

Team Management:

Manage and coordinate a team of multi-discipline Engineers to achieve a safe and cost-effective design through timely resolution of technical and engineering issues.

Tender Process:

Participate in the preparation of tender packages, oversee the tendering process, evaluate tenders, and submit recommendations to relevant tender committees.

Risk Management:

Generate and maintain risk registers, ensuring that risks are managed and mitigated effectively.

Stakeholder Interface:

Interface closely with end-users, stakeholders, government and statutory authorities, and third-party entities such as Joint Ventures.

Variations and Claims:

Participate in the processing and resolution of variations and contractor claims.

Qualifications:

B.Sc. in an Engineering discipline from a recognized University; a higher degree would be advantageous.

Membership in a recognized professional engineering/project management association/institution is an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, and execution of oil & gas projects.

Experience managing and executing brownfield projects in the Oil and Gas sector.

Experience in Pipeline and downstream tankage projects.

Experience managing projects independently as the client/owner representative, preferably with an IOC.

Competency in managing engineering definition activities, coordinating operational requirements, managing detailed design activities, construction activities, operational readiness, assurance processes, commissioning, start-up, handover, and closeout.

Proficient in developing project execution strategies and plans, managing project interfaces, supporting Management of Change (MOC), communicating project performance, identifying and managing project risks, understanding and managing project schedules, managing projects within cost and budget, managing contracts, including changes and variations, understanding and managing GCOCs, managing equipment and material procurement, and resolving contractor claims.

Effective communication and team-building skills, including presentation, report writing, and meeting management.
