Job Description

Job Title: Recreation Manager

Job Overview

The Recreation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and promoting all recreational activities and facilities within the resort. Reporting to the General Manager, this role involves ensuring a unique guest experience through the delivery of sports, wellness, and discovery trips, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and hygiene. The Recreation Manager will lead a team to enhance guest satisfaction, manage budgets, and stay informed about industry trends and competitor offerings.

Key Responsibilities

- Recreational Activities Oversight
- Promote and oversee all recreational activities and facilities in the resort.
- Ensure the provision of sports, wellness, and discovery trips, along with premium facilities and services.
- Direct the promotion, upselling, and execution of daily activity and sports programs.

- Quality and Standards Management
- Maintain and enforce quality, health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Regularly review and improve recreational offerings to ensure they meet guest expectations.

- Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing recreation team.
- Ensure team members are knowledgeable about all aspects of the recreation operation, including product knowledge and retail sales.

- Market Awareness
- Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, including their location, product offerings, pricing, promotions, and sales techniques.
- Adapt strategies based on competitive insights to enhance the resort’s recreational offerings.

- Budget Management
- Oversee budget management for recreational activities and facilities.
- Monitor expenses and revenue, making recommendations for cost-effective solutions.

- Guest Experience Enhancement
- Focus on guest needs, ensuring a calm, courteous, and attentive approach.
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints to enhance the guest experience.

- Administrative Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment.
- Proven experience in budget management and team leadership.

- Education:
- University/College degree in a related discipline.

- Skills:
- Full proficiency in English.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

- Attributes:
- Highly responsible, reliable, and focused on guest needs.
- Ability to work in a remote area and adapt to a dynamic environment.
