Job Description

Job Title: Heart of House Specialist

Position Summary:

As a Heart of House Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of various hotel operations, including kitchen, food and beverage areas, and laundry. This role involves working across departments to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to high standards, supporting the preparation of clean linens and dining ware, and operating cleaning equipment. Success in this position requires adherence to safety policies, effective communication, and maintaining a professional appearance at all times.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, linen washers, and dryers.
- Prepare fresh, clean linen and spotless dining ware for guest use.
- Transport dishware and linens across the hotel as needed.
- Ensure all areas are clean and meet quality standards.

- Cross-Departmental Support:
- Work across various departments, such as kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry, to support cleaning needs.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down work areas as required.

- Health and Safety:
- Create and maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.

- Professionalism:
- Uphold company policies and procedures, ensuring a professional appearance and communication at all times.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees and departments.
- Support team goals and listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns.

- Physical Requirements:
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

- Additional Duties:
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Education:
- No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

- Related Work Experience:
- No prior related work experience necessary.

- Supervisory Experience:
- No supervisory experience required.

- License or Certification:
- None required.
