Job Description:
Do you have a heart to serve and thrive in a team environment? As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a vital role in creating memorable Food & Beverage experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness and order of all kitchen equipment and stewarding stores.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, and surfaces in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
- Scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, flatware, and glasses; washing and storing dishes.
- Assist with sweeping, mopping, and polishing in the restaurant, kitchen, and equipment areas.
- Use correct cleaning agents, quantities, and appropriate cleaning equipment.
- Properly handle and store equipment, ensuring temperature control compliance.
- Follow a clean-as-you-go policy, maintaining a clean work area at all times.
- Clean and set tables in the colleagues’ cafeteria, including seasonal decorations.
- Wash plates and utensils according to hotel standards and procedures.
- Place buffet tags and familiarize yourself with the menu.
- Stock wait staff serving stations with napkins, utensils, trays, and condiments.
- Assist wait staff with service tasks, including cleaning, opening, or closing responsibilities.
- Assist with unloading and storing stock.
Qualifications:
- Ability to use hand tools, stand or walk for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments.
- Additional training may be required.
- Strong communication, task management, and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Friendly, polite, and courteous nature.
- Basic knowledge of proper chemical usage.
- Physical stamina to work long hours on your feet.
- Complete knowledge of industry hygiene standards and safety regulations.
